Dr. Maryann Cusimano Love
Dr. Love is a Fellow at the Commission on International Religious Freedom, and teaches International Relations courses at Catholic University and the Pentagon. She serves on: the U.S. Catholic Bishops' International Justice and Peace Committee, where she advises the bishops on international affairs and foreign policy, and engages in advocacy with the U.S. government; the Advisory Board of the Catholic Peacebuilding Network; and the board and Communications Committee of Jesuit Refugee Services.
Dr. Love is a frequent speaker on international affairs issues and addressed the United Nations at the request of the Vatican on the topic of Religious Peacebuilding last October. She is a columnist for America magazine and also regularly gives faculty development workshops on participatory teaching techniques.
Dr. Love lives on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and three young children, who inspired her four New York Times best-selling children's books.
Fr. J. Bryan Hehir
J. Bryan Hehir is the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Religion and Public Life at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is also the Secretary for Health and Social Services for the Archdiocese of Boston. Prior to assuming these positions Fr. Hehir served as President of Catholic Charities USA, in 2001-03. From 1973-1992 he served on the staff of the USCCB addressing issues of foreign and domestic policy for the church. From 1984-1992, he served on the faculty at Georgetown University in the School of Foreign Service and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics.
Fr. Hehir took his A.B. and Master of Divinity degrees at St. John's Seminary and his Doctor of Theology at Harvard Divinity School. His research and writing focus on issues of ethics and foreign policy, Catholic social ethics and the role of religion in world politics and in American society. His publications include: The Moral Measurement of War: A Tradition of Continuity and Change, Military Intervention and National Sovereignty, Catholicism and Democracy, Social Values and Public Policy: A Contribution from a Religious Tradition and The Moral Dimension in the Use of Force.
Dr. Daniel K. Finn
Daniel Finn is Professor of Moral Theology and Clemens Professor of Economics at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He is a past-president of the Catholic Theological Society of America, the Society of Christian Ethics, and the Association for Social Economics. His books include The Moral Ecology of Markets: a Framework for Assessing Justice in Economic Life (Cambridge, 2006) and The True Wealth of Nations: Catholic Social Thought and Economic Life (Oxford, 2010).
