2025 marked the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), and during a general audience last month, Pope Leo invited the people of God to ..."rediscover the beauty and the importance of this ecclesial event." As such, the NACSAM board of directors has committed to offering quarterly book studies on the four major Vatican II constitutions in 2026. The four documents include:
Dei Verbum - On Divine Revelation
Sacrosanctum Concilium - On Sacred Liturgy
Lumen Gentium - Light of the Nations
Gaudium et spes - The Church in the Modern World

Previous book studies have included Dilexit Nos, Pope Francis on Eucharist, and the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church.
Members of NACSAM and the Catholic Labor Network co-sponsored a book study on Rerum Novarum, the first papal social encyclical and a foundational text for Catholic social action earlier this year. Participants deepened their understanding of how this document continues to challenges social action ministers as we seek to respond to the needs of the world.
