NACSAM has held Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) since 2015. "Special Consultative Status is a designation for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have specific expertise in a limited number of fields relevant to ECOSOC's work. This status allows these organizations to actively participate in ECOSOC meetings and related UN events, submit written and oral statements, and contribute their specialized knowledge on specific topics like human rights or environmental protection."
Over the past several years, NACSAM has been an active participant at the UN through its work with the Working Group to End Homelessness and also developed a report for the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See titled, "Local Diocesan Insight into Presidential Executive Orders on Immigration in the United States."
NACSAM members recently visited United Nations Headquarters in New York in the summer of 2025.
